Want to hit pay dirt and strike it rich? Well, here is your chance! The Fort Robinson History Center will be hosting a free event with real Black Hills panning miners on June 14th. Stop by a mining station with real Black Hills mine dirt and search for gold like they did in 1876.
All ages are welcome to try their hand at panning for gold! The event starts at 9 am and ends when all the dirt is gone. Keep the gold or other special rocks you find alongside Black Hills miners.
The miners will be set up by the 1875 Cavalry Barracks, on the Old Parade Grounds. The public is welcome. Come early and beat the rush—the gold rush that is!
