Preservation Review Board

The Nebraska State Historic Preservation Review Board will meet at 1:00pm on Friday, May 10, 2024, in the Capitol View Room of History Nebraska’s headquarters building, 1500 R St., Lincoln, for the purpose of recommending properties to nominate to the National Register of Historic Places and conducting routine business. The public meeting will commence at 1:00pm and conclude at approximately 3:00pm

A continually current agenda is available for inspection at the Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office, 1500 R St, Lincoln, Nebraska, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. The meeting will be livestreamed for viewing only, with details posted to History Nebraska’s website at history.nebraska.gov/historic-preservation. The Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office Review Board meets three times a year. Its primary duty is to approve nominations to the National Register of Historic Places. The Board also approves the Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office’s annual work plan and its statewide historic preservation plan, which is completed every five years.

About NSHS

The Nebraska State Historical Society was founded in 1878 by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed NSHS from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Interim Director Cindy Drake. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for NSHS.
