And now a word from our sponsors. Today’s Throwback Thursday photo takes us to the set of KMTV’s the Hawk. The Hawk, played by Gary Healy, was a masked superhero who hosted cartoons during the early days of KMTV. In this photo, he stands next to an airplane from Nebraska’s Civil Air Patrol. The Hawk was a popular part of KMTV’s children’s programming during the 1950s. The Hawk wore a black hat, face mask, cape and, of course, a hawk badge. He also had a signature hand signal. So, clasp your palms together and move your fingers like wings and give the sign of the Hawk.
