Nebraska History Museum Summer Workshops
Join us for some summer fun starting in June 2024. Choose from three new interactive programs that offer a unique blend of history, curiosity, and adventure. Workshops are available at the Nebraska History Museum or can be brought to you as an Outreach Program. Learn about each program below and register using the link in the description.

Play Unplugged: Going for Gold
Join History Nebraska as we bring the Paris 2024 games to you in our Play Unplugged: Going for Gold Summer Workshop! You will learn about Olympians and Paralympians from Nebraska while you play games. See how your team stacks up against others over the Summer as we learn how sports can change history!
Skill and abilities: Throwing, catching, reading/listening to instructions and following them, taking turns, teamwork, coordination, balance
Program length: 60 mins

Digging into the Past: Kids in History
History Nebraska needs your help! Our Archeology team has found artifacts that belong to 3 different kids from history, but we don’t know whose stuff is whose! Can you put on your archeologist hat and solve the mystery while learning about kids just like you?
Skill and abilities: teamwork, observation making, reading/helping peers read, writing/helping peers write, categorizing objects, role-playing, listening to instructions and following them.

Mystery in the Museum: Historic Markers
How do we remember people in the past? In this breakout box challenge, learn more about Nebraskans using Historic Markers from across the state. Solve the combination using markers, clues in the museum, and more while you learn about historic markers across the state and how they are created.
Skill and abilities: teamwork, observation making, reading/helping peers read, writing/helping peers write, categorizing objects, role-playing, listening to instructions and following them.
