BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Born in 1949, Graten Beavers attended public school at Fairmont, Nebraska, before continuing his education and graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1970) and Nebraska Law School (1974). He started his career in the Judge Advocate General’s Corp, where he served as a military trial lawyer and judge in the Army Reserve. He also served as a civilian trial lawyer and judge. Beavers retired from the Army Reserves as colonel. In 1984 the Nebraska Legislature appointed Beavers, along with two other attorneys, to serve as special assistant attorney general for the impeachment trial of Nebraska Attorney General Paul Douglas.
