SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection of the Congregational Church of Indianola, Nebraska, consists of one reel of microfilm containing eleven volumes. These records date from 1893-1929 and are arranged in three series: 1) Minutes of the Junior Christian Endeavor, 1895-1899; 2) Minutes of the Young People’s Society of Christian Endeavor, 1893-1911; and 3) Minutes of the Sunday School, 1893-1929. This collection was loaned for microfilming in June of 1982 by the Nebraska Conference of the United Church of Christ.

About NSHS

The Nebraska State Historical Society was founded in 1878 by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed NSHS from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Interim Director Cindy Drake. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for NSHS.
