SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of one letter dated July 26, 1873, from E.B. Fowler of Cottonwood Springs, Nebraska, to a Mrs. Barnes. Fowler describes his impressions of living in the sandhills and his feelings of loneliness. He describes an Indian attack and a water spout burst that resulted in the deaths of six men and twenty-eight horses. These occurrences happened while he was at Fort McPherson, Nebraska.
