BACKGROUND NOTE

Born at Franklin, Nebraska, on July 30, 1905, Estle Plumb “Pete” Dunlap married Gracie Gessford, and the couple had four children.  Dunlap farmed in Franklin County, as well as working with a survey crew on various county engineering projects.  In the 1940s, he worked for the federal government on various WPA a reclamation projects.  In 1949-1950, Dunlap worked on the Harlan Dam project in Harlan County, Nebraska.  Estle Plumb “Pete” Dunlap died on September 1, 1992.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of five folders.  The first folder contains photocopies of federal employment and civil service applications for Estle Plumb “Pete” Dunlap, dating from 1946.  Also included are copies of several newspaper clippings about the building of the Harlan County Dam.  The remaining two oversized folders contain various technical drawings for pouring concrete for the Harlan County Dam.  The drawings date from 1949 and 1950.
