BACKGROUND NOTE
Henry Brown was born November 18, 1870, on a farm in Lancaster County, Nebraska. He was educated in the county and graduated from Lincoln Business College in 1887. In 1890, Brown began his career as a mortician in the employ of Walton Roberts, continuing with that firm until 1909 when he entered the undertaking business as a member of the firm Brown and Doyle. He was married to Anna Edith Buckmaster on April 28, 1909, in Lincoln. In 1917, Mr. Brown took over his partner’s interest and carried on the business under his own name until his death January 4, 1931. He was survived by his wife.
