SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The collection consists of photocopies of military records, 1864-1865, and pension claim papers, 1890-1903, of John H. Miller, who served in Co. C, 1st Nebraska Cavalry. Miller was discharged following his admission that he had a mulatto mother. Also included are 1973 letters between the Nebraska State Historical Society and Peru State College regarding the possibility that he attended Peru Academy.
