BACKGROUND NOTE
Born at Scribner, Nebraska, on July 18, 1891, Katherine Groeteke was the daughter of Louis and Minna Groeteke. She worked as a teacher in Dodge County until marrying Fred Wupper in 1915 and moving to Wausa. The couple had one son, Fred Jr., in 1916. Katherine (Groeteke) Wupper died of influenza on November 18, 1918. She is buried in Ridge Cemetery at Fremont, Nebraska.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one letter written by Katherine Wupper to her parents. The letter is dated November 7, 1918. In the letter she describes how the flu epidemic was affecting the local community. She also mentions news of happenings relating to the war. A typed transcript of the letter is also included.
