BACKGROUND NOTE
Optimist International is a service club organization made up of nearly three thousand local clubs around the world. Individual clubs raise their own funds and conduct service projects to improve the lives of children in their community. Typical service projects include sponsoring youth athletic leagues, conducting essay and oratory contests for youth scholarships, and supporting other activities at local schools. The first regular meeting of the Opti-Mrs. Club of Lincoln was held on March 2, 1934.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of records of the Opti-Mrs. Club of Lincoln. Included in the collection are minutes of meetings, correspondence, yearbooks and a scrapbook. The materials date from 1934 to 1983.
