BACKGROUND NOTE
Born July 9, 1905, at Lincoln, Nebraska, Pauline Bloom attended Lincoln High School. She served in the Lincoln Girls’ Cadet Corps in the 1920s. Bloom worked as a secretary in the State Attorney’s office before marrying Henry Armstrong on May 9, 1931. Pauline (Bloom) Armstrong died on January 17, 1999. She is buried in Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln, Nebraska.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one folder containing photocopies of a scrapbook kept by Pauline (Bloom) Armstrong. Materials in the scrapbook relate to her time in the Lincoln Girls’ Cadet Corps and to her being named “Imperial Empress” at the Lincoln American Legion’s “Oriental Chinatown” exposition in 1925. She received an all-expenses paid trip to California where she met various movie stars and studio moguls. Included are photocopies of newspaper clippings, photos, letters and telegrams.
