SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This manuscript collection consists of records of several Modern Woodmen of American camps in Nebraska.  The records are divided into three subgroups and arranged as follows:  Subgroup 1, North Loup Camp, 1408, Ravenna, Nebraska, is arranged in the following series:  1) Minutes of Meetings, 1892-1910; 2) Pass Report Books, 1913 and 1925; 3) By-Laws and Publications, 1903 and 1908; 4) Receipts and Statements; 5) Official Forms and Documents, undated; 6) Catalogues; and 7) Miscellany.  Subgroup 2, Angora Camp, 11639, Angora, Nebraska, is arranged in the following series:  10 Charter, 1912; 2) Minutes, 1912; and 3) Attendance Rolls, 1912 and 1916. Subgroup 3, Otoe Camp, 3032, Barneston, Nebraska, is arranged in the following series:  1) Applications; 2) Pass Reports, 1899-1900; 3) Financial Records, 1893-1900; 4) Correspondence, 1895-1905; and 7) Miscellany.

About NSHS

The Nebraska State Historical Society was founded in 1878 by citizens who recognized Nebraska was going through great changes and they sought to record the stories of both indigenous and immigrant peoples. It was designated a state institution and began receiving funds from the legislature in 1883. Legislation in 1994 changed NSHS from a state institution to a state agency. The division is headed by Director Daryl Bohac. They are assisted by an administrative staff responsible for financial and personnel functions, museum store services, security, and facilities maintenance for NSHS.
